La reine du matin
Language: French (Français)
 Comme la naissante aurore,
 Se lève pâle encore
 Dans l'azur des cieux,
 Et bientôt étincelante
 De sa clarté brûlante
 Éblouit les yeux,
 Tel son doux printemps rayonne,
 Sous la vaine couronne
Que mit sur son front le destin.

 Mais qui jamais pourra dire
 Ta grâce et ton sourire,
 O Balkis, reine du matin!

 Sous le gaze se devine,
 Dans sa splendeur divine
 Sa jeune beauté!
 Sur son visage réside
 Une pudeur candide
 Avec la fierté!
 Entre l'ignorance heurese
 Et l'ivresse amoureuse
 Son coeur semble encor incertain!

 Mais qui jamais pourra dire
 Ta grâce et ton sourire,
 O Balkis, reine du matin!
