Meine Schwester hat Hochzeit
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  ENG

'Tis my sister's wedding ‑‑ the bells...
Language: English  after the German (Deutsch)
'Tis my sister's wedding -- the bells are pealing,
All the people are looking at my sister,
My sister is wearing a veil and a wreath of myrtle,
Her silk train flies in the dance.

The bridegroom talks and laughs so loudly,
He kisses the trembling hands of the bride, --
No one has yet kissed my slender hand,
My lips do not know what love is.

No fervent desire has come to stand before me,
No one has wooed me, however beautiful I may be,
I am the one who knows neither love nor beloved --
And my blood is young and my lips, they burn!
