by Charles Polydore de Mont (1857 - 1931), as Pol de Mont

Paralipomena
Language: Dutch (Nederlands)
Oude bronnen, droog en leêg,
Weder zult gij spruiten!
Merel, die sinds eeuwen zweeg,
Lustiger zult gij fluiten!

Dorre tak op d'ouden boom,
Groenende knoppen zult gij schieten!
IJs en sneeuw - de Lente koom!
Zilverig zullen de beken vlieten!

Weerklank uit het Dietsch gemoed,
Minnelust van knapen, meiden, -
Volkslied! krachtvol als ons bloed,
Frisch als 't luchtje in ons weiden;
-
Ouden zult gij jeugdigen moed,
Jongen, machtigen hartstocht geven:
Oud en jong, ten vromen groet,
In mijn liederen zult ge 'erleven!

Confirmed with De Vlaamsche Kunstbode Jaargang 12. Jul. Vuylsteke, Ad. Hoste, Gent / De Seyn-Verhougstraete, Roeselare / J. Noordendorp, Amsterdam 1882 p.169, in Frans de Ghent, "Boekbeoordeeling".
