Wenn er den Lüften von seiner Geliebten und seinem Jammer erzählt, wird er euch, sanfte Gefiederte, süßere Töne lehren. Aber ich höre ihn nicht. Und wer hört ihn? Ach, mein Geliebter ist verstummt. Du, barmherziges Echo, das nunmehr schon meine Tränen erschöpft hat, kehre zurück zu ihm und sanft fragt er dich nach seiner Braut. Leise, jetzt ruft er mich, leise ... o weh! Nein , er ruft mich nicht, o Gott, er ist nicht da.
