by Aleksey Stepanovich Khomyakov (1804 - 1860)

Ja videl son, chto budto ja pevec
Language: Russian (Русский)
Ja videl son, chto budto ja pevec,
I chto pevec - prechudnoje javlen'e,
I chto v pevce na vse svojo tvoren'e
Vsevyshnij polozhil venec.

Ja videl son, chto budto ja pevec,
I pod perstom moim dyshali struny,
I zvuki ikh gremeli kak peruny,
Streloj vonzalisja vo glubinu serdec.

I kak v stepi glukhoj zhivye vody,
Tak pesn' moja laskala zhadnyj slukh;
V nej slyshen byl i tajnyj glas prirody,
I [smertno gor"e]1 parjashchij dukh.

No chas nastal. Menja vo grob sokryli,
Moi usta mogil'nyj khlad skoval;
No iz mogil'noj t'my, iz khladnoj pyli,
Gremela pesn' i sladkij glas zvuchal.

Veka proshli, i plemena drugije
Pokryli kraj, gde prakh pevca lezhal;
No ne zamolkli struny zolotye,
I sladkij glas po-prezhnemu zvuchal.

Ja videl son, chto budto ja pevec,
I chto pevec - prechudnoje javlen'e,
I chto v pevce na vse svoje tvoren'e
Vsevyshnij polozhil venec.
