Oriana ‑ Oriana infedele

Oriana tenea l'incantamento.
Giacean, ebri d'assai dolci veleni,
Ne l'antro i prodi; e larga di sereni
Sogni la Luna era a l'umano armento.
Pascean su 'l limitare i palafreni
Meravigliosi, li èmuli de 'l vento:
Battean la lunga coda in moto lento
A la coscia, e nitrian per li alti fieni.
Giunse Amadigi a l'antro solitario,
Tutto de l'armi splendide vestito;
E tre volte sonò, ne 'l muto orrore.
Quindi, rompendo il magico velario
Che l'edera tessea, con quell'ardito
Gesto egli prese ad Oriana il cuore.

Quando Amadigi con l'eterna amante
Giunse a l'isola Ferma (auree ne 'l giorno
Lucean le mura ed i verzieri in torno
Aulivano), le porte d'adamante
S'apriron mute e gravi, a 'l suon de 'l corno,
Ma, lasciando Oriana a Floridante,
Il Donzello del mare, almo e raggiante,
Penetrò solo ne 'l divin soggiorno.
Disse a la donna il bel sir di Castiglia:
Ahi che troppo di te m'arse il desio!
Or tu m'odi! E la trasse ai labirinti
Mago ne l'aria odore di jacinti
Vinse Oriana de 'l soave oblio.
Ridea Lurchetto in sua faccia vermiglia.
