F. Kamm sets stanzas 1, 5, 6

Upon the green, grassy seat Here by the little waterfall, I hear from the top of the tower, The ringing of a little silver bell,. To Thee, oh Highest One! it rings brightly, To Thee, through Whom the universe lives, Who on the wave of my life Wafts about me like a loving father. If I did not possess His graciousness, Oh, how poor and weak I would be! Therefore in burning prayer My soul struggles to follow Him. And as it rings brightly from the tower, Thus it rings clearly within [me], My heart sings of Him alone, [Him] who shall be, who is, and who was. [Little bell, you give]1 me solemn tidings, [You call]: the day has drawn to a close; To me as well comes the evening hour, When the sun shall descend. Then, oh dear little bell, ring Me kindly to the rest of the grave; May my freed soul blissfully Swing its way upward to my homeland.
