Sul mio cenere tacente
se tu spargi allora un fior,
Bella Nice, men dolente
dell'avel mi fia l'orror.

Non ti chiedo che di pianto
venga l'urna mia a bagnar,

vorrei subito spirar.

Schauer und den Durst der Liebe weckt,
schöne Nike, meines Herzens
süße Hoffnung und einziges Verlangen.

Ach! Er wird kommen, und nicht so fern
ist mir vielleicht bereits jener Tag,
an dem die ruchlose Hand des Todes
meinen Lebensfaden abschneiden wird.

Wenn ich im Schoße der Erde im Totenreiche
ruhe, weh mir Unglücklichem, wird meiner,
ach, gedacht, wie treu
dieses Herz dich allzeit liebte.

Solltest du auf meine stumme Asche
dann eine Blume streuen,
schöne Nike, weniger schmerzvoll
wäre mir das Grauen vor dem Grabe.

Ich bitte dich nicht, dass du kämst, mit Tränen
meine Urne zu überschütten,
