Wiegenlied einer alten Magd
Language: German (Deutsch)
Ich thät mich einst vermiethen
  Zu Sanct Marie
    In den Himmel hinein;
Ich wollt' ihr helfen wiegen
  Das liebe Kind,
    Ihr Jesulein.
Da ward ich ausgehoben
  In den goldigen Saal
    Voll Engelein;
Die thäten alle loben
  In dem ewigen Strahl
    Maria rein.
Maria kam und führte
  Mich an der Hand
    In's Kämmerlein;
Im Kämmerlein, da, siehe,
  Stand an der Wand
    Ein Wiegelein;
Darinne sah' ich liegen
  Das liebe Kind,
    Das Jesulein;
Da fing ich an zu wiegen
  Mit der Hand so lind
    Und sang darein:
    "Schlaf lieblich ein,
    Schlaf lieblich ein,
Schlaf allerliebstes Jesulein,
  Schlaf' süß und selig ein!"
