Rings schläft die Welt! Und um mich raunt die Zeit
Den dunkeln Rätselsang der Ewigkeit.
Mich bergen wieder heilger Kindheit Räume,
Ein Antlitz lächelt mild, lächelt in meine Träume:
Mutter!

Tanca els meus ulls amb el teu bes,
el teu infant fatigat, acotxa’l dolçament.
Ell ha errat per l’entorn sol, tot sol,
embolcalla’l com abans, en el teu amor.

Tot a l’entorn el món dorm! I al meu voltant el temps em 
mormola l’obscur i misteriós cant de l’eternitat.
Els espais de la meva infantesa m’arreceren de nou,
un rostre em somriu dolçament, somriu en els meus somnis:
Mare!
