Aufs Brusttuch, wenn's niemand sieht,
Ein bittres Tröpfchen fällt.
Ich möcht ihm nach und scheute nicht
Gestürm noch Wolkensturz,
Wär nur mein Jäckchen nicht so dünn,
Mein Röcklein gar so kurz!
Bleib' lieber in der Stube drum,
Da ist's gemütlich warm
Und hinterm Ofen sitzt der Hans,
Der nimmt mich in seinen Arm.

El meu tresor ha marxat de viatge
de ben segur per el món sencer,
a la pitrera, quan ningú ho veu,
em cau una amarga llàgrima.
Jo el voldria seguir i no temo
ni tempestes ni torbonades,
però la meva jaqueta és massa prima
i la meva faldilla massa curta!
Per això, m’estimo més restar a la cambra,
on hi fa una confortable escalfor
i darrere l’estufa seu el Hans,
que em pren en els seus braços.
