by Wilhelm Müller (1794 - 1827)

Am Brunnen
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  FRE
Sie schreiten fremd an mir vorbei,
Ich frage Keinen, wer er sei;
Wir wandeln auf und wandeln nieder,
Und sehn vielleicht uns nimmer wieder.

Und ziehen dennoch allzumal
Nach einem Ziel in Lust und Qual,
Dem Erdenquell, dem ewig vollen,
Aus dem das Heil wir trinken wollen.

Aus einem Borne schöpfen wir,
Ein Tempel über dir und mir.
Laß Hand in Hand uns hier verbinden:
Am Himmelsquell auf Wiederfinden!
