by Friedrich Rückert (1788 - 1866)

Verjüngung
Language: German (Deutsch)
Alt war ich, und der Nacht
Klagt ich's durch Trauerlieder;
Da hab'ich dein gedacht,
Und jung bin ich nun wieder.

Lob sei und Dank dem Herrn!
Um was ich je gebeten,
Es ist ein heller Stern
Mir noch an's Grab getreten.

Der Becher voll Rubin,
Das Herz voll Rosenfunken,
So glüh' ich, bis ich bin
In Asche still versunken.

Du junger Rosenstrauch,
Wie ist es dir gelungen?
Du hast mit Frühlingshauch
Dies Winterherz durchdrungen.

Noch einmal fließt Kristall
In meines Liebs Akkorden,
Weil ich die Nachtigall
In deinem Laub geworden.
