by Cäsar Flaischlen (1864 - 1920)

Schlaf', müde Seele
Language: German (Deutsch)
Schlaf', müde Seele,
daß nichts dich mehr quäle!
schlaf und vergiß
deines Tagewerks Last!
schlaf und vergiß,
wie viel du auch heute
an Lieb und Freude verloren hast,
wie viel es wieder dir
Rosen zerriß ...
schlaf, müde Seele,
schlaf und vergiß!

Was dir zerrann
an Glauben und Glück,
in seligem Traum
träum es zurück! ...
Ob die Welt dich auch verdamme,
deiner Sehnsucht heilige Flamme
zwingt die Nacht, durch die du wanderst,
zwingt die Furcht, die dich umdroht,
lodert auf zu frühlingslichtem
ostergoldenem Morgenrot!
