Warum ich dich liebe? -- Die Nachtigall frage Warum sie so sehnende Lieder dir singt; Verstehst du der Lerche laut jubelnde Sprache Wenn schmetternd zum Äther sie aufwärts sich schwingt? Es flüstert im Walde, es rauscht in den Wogen, Der Himmel erglänzet -- ich weiß nicht, warum? So hat es mein Herz auch zu dir hingezogen, Ich liebe und singe, und weiß nicht -- warum?
