by (Paul) Jules Barbier (1825 - 1901) and by Michel Carré (1822 - 1872)
Translation possibly by (Friedrich) Wilhelm Langhans (1832 - 1892)

O Wein, zerstreue uns're Sorgen
Language: German (Deutsch)  after the French (Français)
HAMLET.
O Wein, zerstreue uns're Sorgen,
Und erfrische das Herz!
Wer denket heute wohl an morgen,
Statt an fröhlichen Scherz!
Allerwärts
Muß dir gehorchen,
Wem seine Sorgen
Bedrücken das Herz.

HORATIO UND MARCELLUS.
Er sucht zu vergessen die Sorgen.

HAMLET.
Wer hätt' gefunden
Was hier ihm fehlt?
Bald sind gezählt
Die glücklichen Stunden!
Ein Jeder fast
Trägt seine Last
Auf dieser Erden;
Möcht's anders werden!
Weiche fort,
Trübe Ahnung.
Weisheit liegt im Narrenwort!
O Wein etc.
