Das Röselein vom Regen gar arg durchnässt,
sein Köpfchen bei den Schlägen nun sinken läßt.
Mit Perlen übergossen scheint's weinend auch,
als Blieb' es nun verdrossen am Blüthenstrauch.

Das Blümelein erfaßt ich und hab's gepflückt,
und brach es, ach zu hastig,
da liegt's geknickt, da liegts geknickt.

So Rose fühlt die Schmerzen ein sanft Gemüth,
denn im geknickten Herzen kein Frühling blüht.
