Quan el sol ja s’amagava
darrere les empal·lidides muntanyes
i un vent aspre al parc esgrogueït
cobria de fulles els camins i els bancs,
llavors et vaig veure i tu em veieres;
tu muntaves tranquil el teu cavall bai
i cavalcaves solemne, en silenci,
a través del vent i la caiguda de fulles, vers el castell.
Fou un trist retrobament:
pàl·lid, tu seguires cavalcant lentament,
jo vaig romandre a l’alt reixat,
es feia fosc, i cap dels dos digué una sola paraula.
