by Paul Heyse (1830 - 1914)

Wie Morgenfrühe seh' ich's schweben
Language: German (Deutsch)
Wie Morgenfrühe seh' ich's schweben
So kühl und rein um deinen Mund;
Die schüchtern großen Augen geben
Ein dämmerndes Erwachen kund.

Du fühlst es schauernd, wie ein Tagen
In deiner tiefsten Brust begann,
Du ahnst mit seligem Verzagen,
Daß deiner Träume Nacht verrann.

Und ich, der all dies dunkle Sehnen
In seinem Arm sich hellen sieht,
Hab' es zu danken nur die Thränen,
Und es zu sagen kaum ein Lied.
