Ich wandre durch Theresienstadt
Language: German (Deutsch)
Available translation(s): ENG FRE ITA
Ich wandre durch Theresienstadt,
das Herz so schwer wie Blei.
Bis jäh meine Weg ein Ende hat,
dort knapp an der Bastei.
Dort bleib ich auf der Brücke stehn
und schau ins Tal hinaus:
ich möcht so gerne weiter gehn,
ich möcht so gern nach Haus!
Nach Haus! -- du wunderbares Wort,
du machst das Herz mir schwer.
Man nahm mir mein Zuhause fort,
nun hab ich keines mehr.
Ich wende mich betrübt und matt,
so schwer wird mir dabei:
Theresienstadt, Theresienstadt,
wann wohl das Leid ein Ende hat,
wann sind wir wieder frei?

Theresienstadt
Language: Italian (Italiano)  after the German (Deutsch)
Io vado errando per Theresienstadt,
col cuore pesante come piombo.
Fino a quando il mio cammino si interrompe
Proprio ai piedi del bastione.
Là rimango nei pressi del ponte
E guardo verso la vallata:
vorrei tanto andare lontano,
e ritornare a casa mia!
Casa mia! -- che meravigliosa parola,
che tanto mi pesa sul cuore.
La casa, me l'hanno tolta
E ormai non ne ho più nessuna.
Io vado errando rassegnata e triste,
oh, quanto tutto questo mi pesa:
Theresienstadt, Theresienstadt
quando il nostro soffrire terminerà,
quando riavremo la libertà?
