by Heinrich Heine (1797 - 1856)

Die Wälder und Felder grünen
Language: German (Deutsch)
Die Wälder und Felder grünen,
Es trillert die Lerch in der Luft,
Der Frühling ist erschienen
Mit Lichtern und Farben und Duft.

Der Lerchengesang erweicht mir
Das winterlich starre Gemüt,
Und aus dem Herzen steigt mir
Ein trauriges Klagelied.

Die Lerche trillert gar feine:
«Was singst du so trüb und bang?»
Das ist ein Liedchen, o Kleine,
Das sing ich schon jahrelang!

Das sing ich im grünen Haine,
Das Herz von Gram beschwert;
Schon deine Großmutter, o Kleine,
Hat dieses Liedchen gehört!
