O rüste dich

O rüste dich. Leg jeden Abend leise
von deinen Dingen eines in die Truhen.
Denn wenn wir eine weite Reise tuen,
soll alles dienen dieser weiten Reise.

Laß nur die liebsten Bilder an der Wand.
Und zärtlich aus den Vasen heb die blinden
Mitternachtsblumen. Wenn wir andre finden,
soll keiner wissen mehr: in welchem Land.

Und laß zurück in deinen dunklen Schränken
die schwarze Tracht. Die Kleider aus dem Gestern.
Dein Leib soll nie mehr dieses Dunkel denken.

Und deine Seele muß ein Kleid ihm schenken,
das ihrem gleicht...
        so schreiten sie wie Schwestern...
