Christnacht

Christmas
Language: English  after the German (Deutsch)
Holy night, on angels' wing Bends to earth so still and bright. Merry bells, I hear them ring, And the windows all alight. Poorest hut abounds with bliss And the children thankful, proud, Offering their sweetest kiss They all cheer to God aloud. Holy night, with all thine light Solemnly I see descend. Star of life, so grand and bright, Take my heart, my knees are bent. Lo, in heaven and on earth Peace and love spread sparkling shine. Peace and love and pious mirth, Mankind, be the kingdom thine.
