In adorable ciel de mai 
Rose et frais, le soleil va luire,
Et la terre, à son bien aimé,
Envoie un salut parfumé.
Les oiseaux vont chanter, les roses vont sourire.

On sent frissoner, sous les toits,
Un rayon de lumière blonde,
Au loin sangloter à mi-voix
La source amoureuse des bois,
Et circuler dans l'air la jeunesse du monde.

Et, dans leur vol vertigineux
Au travers de l'espace immense
Les beaux nuages lumineux
Emportent jusqu'au fond des cieux
Mon cœur qu'ils ont grisé d'azur et de silence,

Et qui fuit dans immensité,
Parmi le satin et la moire,
Ebloui, presque épouvanté,
Sur de flocons roses porté
Et comme enveloppé dans un brouillard de gloire !
