Meiregen
Language: Dutch (Nederlands)
Our translations:  ENG
Wie graag sterk wil zijn en groot,
  Groeijen wil ter degen,
Loop' maar met zijn hoofdje bloot
  In den zoelen regen!
Wees niet angstig voor een spat,
  Frisch er in gesprongen,
Vrees niet voor een' drop of wat,
  Dreumes van een' jongen!

Zie de blommetjes eens staan,
  Hoe ze 't buitje drinken!
Kijk toch eens hoe op de blaân
  Al die druppels blinken!
In dat lekkre, zoele nat
  Ligt des Hemels zegen,
Daarom, dreumes! rep je wat,
  Loop 'reis in den regen!

Confirmed with J. P. Heije, Kinderliederen, Kind- Boek- Leeszaal, O. L. B. 'S-Gravenhage, page 14.
