from Volkslieder (Folksongs)

Inschrift
Language: German (Deutsch)
Hör mich du arme Pilgerin,
Die zu Wallfahrten hast den Sinn,
Nicht wollest du vorüber gehen,
Bei diesem Bilde bleibe stehen,
Erfrisch allhier die müden Füß,
Maria hier die Mutter süß
Ganz ruhig stehet und wartet,
Ob du bist gut geartet.

Hast du ihr nichts zu geben mehr,
Laß ihr nur eine fromme Zähr,
Tu sie mit nassen Augen
Ganz sinniglich anschauen,
Ohn Zweifel wirds ihr lieber sein,
Denn Silber, Gold und Edelstein,
Sie wird die Treue haben,
Dich wieder zu begaben.
