Walle empor, Friedenshauch! 
Schimmernder Rosen weiche Düfte 
Wehet der Liebe selige Lüfte --
Eures Altars Opferrauch. 

Himmlische Wonne, niederthau'! 
Bete an mit süssem Beben, 
Lass aus deinem Herzen schweben 
Gottes ewigen Tempelbau. 

Steige herauf, Sabathtag! 
Lasse der Seele kindliches Lallen, 
Sehnenden Herzens reinen Schlag: 
"Als ein Gebet zum Himmel wallen."

Greet the world with joyful gesture.

Soar upward, breath of peace!
The blessed breezes of love waft
The soft scent of shimmering roses --
The smoke of sacrifice upon your altar.

Heavenly bliss, drop down like dew!
Worship with sweet trembling,
Let the building of God's eternal temple
Emanate from your heart.

Arise, Sabbath day!
Let the childlike murmuring of your soul,
The pure pulse of your yearning heart:
"Rise up to Heaven like a prayer."
