Meine Sonne wurdest du,
Ich ward ein Planete,
Der sich ohne Rast und Ruh
Um die Sonne drehte.
Einmal blieb ich sonnenfern
Vierundzwanzig Stunden.
Mittlerweile war mein Stern
Ohne Spur verschwunden.
Und von meinem Augenpaar
Schuppe fiel auf Schuppe.
Meine Lebenssonne war
Nichts als eine Schnuppe.

You became my sun,
I became a planet
That, without rest and repose,
Orbited the sun.
Once I remained far from the sun
For twenty-four hours.
In the meantime my star
Had vanished without a trace.
And from this pair of eyes of mine
Scale after scale fell.
The sun of my life was
Nothing more than a shooting star.
