by (Karl) Wilhelm Osterwald (1820 - 1887)

Du trautes Fensterlein
Language: German (Deutsch)
Du trautes Fensterlein
Lässest den Sonnenschein
  In's Herz mir scheinen;
Ohn' seinen milden Glanz
Müßt' ich mein Leben ganz
  In Nacht verweinen.

Wenn ich alleine bin,
Seh' ich auf die Straße hin,
  Trüb' ach! und trüber --
Ach! wie wird wieder schnell
Herz mir und Auge hell,
  Geht er vorüber.

Wenn er verstohlen nickt,
Lieblichen Gruß mir blickt,
  O welch ein Segen:
Lachend in's Herz hinein
Wallt mir der Sonnenschein
  Mitten im Regen.
