Jag spinner min träd på den växande rullen,

och hvit som en snö är den molniga ullen,
den molniga ullen.
Jag spinner min nya,
min skönaste rya.
Allhelgonatiden är bröllop i bya.

Jag spinner min glädje af ängarnas tågor,
af ängarnas tågor,
af skogarnas dofter, af sjöarnas vågor,
sjöarnas vågor,
af sol i vår hydda,
af hälsa till krydda,
af änglarnas vakt, som vär tröskel beskydda.

Jag spinner min kärlek i skiftande tråden,

jag knyter mitt hopp vid den eviga nåden,

Förutan dess fäste
så brister den bäste,
