Ved Sundet
Language: Norwegian (Bokmål) 
  Der hviled over Øen
  saa skjært et Maaneskin;
  i Bugten rulled Søen
  sin Sølvervove ind.
Ved Sundet stod min ensomme Hytte,
  og der er Nøkkens Krat. 
Der var det min Hu, at vaage og lytte
  den ganske Sommer-Nat.

  Det dufted og det dugged,
  det aanded over Sund,
  og Nattevinden vugged
  hver Blomster-Alf i Blund. 
Det var som en Vinge af Dun mig rørte,
  og holdt mit Øie til,
mens al den dæmpede Klang, jeg hørte,
  lød sødt som Harpe-Spil.

  Min Sjel blev tryllebundet
  til denne milde Bugt,
  og til hvert Seil i Sundet,
  og til de Skyers Flugt.
Jeg vandred siden saa tit alene
  paa Strand ved dyben Strøm; 
det nynned fra Sø, -- det hvisked fra Grene,
  som Minder af en Drøm.
