Frühlingslied
An jedes Menschenherz, geh, sei kein Thor,

Spring song
Language: English  after the German (Deutsch)
Oh, May has come in a heavenly, heavenly manner,
With splendour and the scent of blossoms,
The clouds seem as if they had drifted hither, edged with silver,
And spring rejoicing fills the soft air.
And into the distance resounds
In meadow and forest:
May is here!
With its wafting, an incomprehensibly
Wondrous yearning passes through my breast,
Our eyes laugh and struggle with tears,
When the lovely joy of May comes over us.
And into the distance resounds
In meadow and forest:
May is here!
With gentle fingers, sweet love knocks
Upon every human heart, go, do not be a fool,
And follow this all-conquering one with rejoicing,
[Love] lifts you up into the most beautiful springtime.
And into the distance resounds
In meadow and forest:
May is here!
