Zug der Liebe

Rosen im Antlitz, den Dorn im Gemüth, Hoffnung, die nachtet, und Sehnsucht, die früht, Auge, das lächelt, und Lächeln, das weint: -- Lieb' ist der Zauber, der Alles vereint. Lieb' ist der Himmel und Lieb' ist das Meer, Wolken und Wogen ihr träumendes Heer, Drin sie als Schifflein bald schwanket, bald ruht, Sterne ihr Anker, der Schmerz ihre Fluth. Lieb' ist die Seele, die tritt an ein Grab: "Schläfst du im Tode, so nimm mich hinab; Wohnst du im Himmel, so laß mich hinein; Bist du verloren, mit dir will ich's sein!" -- -- Leben, du Thräne, und Thräne, du Welt, Lieb' ist der Brunn, dem ihr zitternd entquellt; Lieb' ist der Seufzer, der fließt durch die Nacht, Lieb' ein Gedanke, allewig gedacht.
