So rinnen dahin deine Worte all'.

In Würzburg
Language: English  after the German (Deutsch)
In Würzburg it rings brightly from the heights,
The maidens of Würzburg are delightful and beautiful,
Down there in the valley the brooklets flow onward,
There she who is always in my mind walks as well.
The brooklets become a raging torrent,
No matter how much I love you, it is never of any help to me.
The waters flow with a foaming surge,
Thus all of your words rush away.
A hundred vows of love and faithfulness,
There is always a bit of deception there too,
Yet even if you were my love for only a short time,
May God reward you for it for all time!
