Vom Himmel ist der Frühlingsregen
herabgerauscht die ganze Nacht, -
ich [hör]¹ im Traum die Tropfen fallen
und habe lächelnd dein gedacht.

Und nun im lichten Frührotkleide
der Tag vor meiner Türe steht,
nun schließ ich unter Tränenströmen
dich in mein heiligstes Gebet.
