Der Strom
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  CAT DUT ENG FRE ITA ITA
Mein Leben wälzt sich murrend fort;
Es steigt und fällt in krausen Wogen,
Hier bäumt es sich, jagt nieder dort,
In wilden Zügen, hohen Bogen.

Das stille Thal, das grüne Feld
Durchrauscht es nun mit leisem Beben,
Sich Ruh ersehnend, ruhige Welt,
Ergötzt es sich am ruhigen Leben.

Doch nimmer findend, was es sucht,
Und immer sehnend, tost es weiter,
Unmuthig rollt's auf steter Flucht,
Wird nimmer froh, wird nimmer heiter.

Il torrente
Language: Italian (Italiano)  after the German (Deutsch)
Turbina incessantemente la mia vita brontolando,
sale e ricade in onde increspate,
qua s'impenna, là si sprofonda
in rapide selvagge, in alte arcate.

Attraversando la valle silenziosa, i verdi campi
ora mormora con tremito leggero,
anela alla quiete, a un mondo di quiete,
si delizia di un vivere quieto.

Ma mai trova quel che cerca,
e sempre anelando riprende a mugghiare,
rotola via scontenta in perenne fuga,
e mai si rasserena, mai più proverà gioia.
