by Karl Stieler (1842 - 1885)

Leb wohl, mein Lieb, du treue Seele
Language: German (Deutsch)
Leb wohl, mein Lieb, du treue Seele,
die ich ins tiefste Herz schloß ein.
Du warst so gut, so ohne Fehle,
nun bin ich arm und ganz allein.

Werd' einsam meine Tränen weinen,
und nicht dein sanftes Angesicht
wird mir im dunklen Sturm erscheinen,
du einst mein Friede, du einst mein Licht!

Werd' einsam durch das Leben gehen,
bis ich zu Tode mich betrüb';
und bis wir dann uns wiedersehen,
für immer dann, leb wohl, mein Lieb.
