by Matthias Jacob Schleiden (1804 - 1881), as Ernst

Durch Nacht zum Licht
Language: German (Deutsch)
Mich führt durch einsame Gassen
In dunkler Mitternacht
Ein fernher funkelndes Lichtchen;
Ich weiß, daß die Liebe wacht.

Und drinnen bei ihrem Kosen
Da taget, was finster war;
Es schwinden die bösen Gedanken,
Im Geiste wird's hell und klar;

Ich bin wieder gut und glaube.
Wenn sie vom Glauben spricht.
So führt mich das Licht zur Liebe,
So führt mich die Liebe zum Licht.
