Du sollst dieß Ringlein tragen Zum Pfand, daß ich dich lieb'; Mein Herz soll nimmer sagen: Den Ring mir wiedergieb! Und willst auch du mir wahren Dein Herz in treuer Wacht, Dann sollst du einst erfahren, Wie Treue glücklich macht. Doch wenn im Streit ich bliebe, Zerspring' des Ringleins Gold; Dann denk' in frommer Liebe, Daß Gott es so gewollt. Ob's Ringlein auch zerspringet, Verzage darum nicht! Der Himmel wieder schlinget, Was auf der Erde bricht!
