by Georg von Hauenschild (1825 - 1855), as Max Waldau

Sie an Ihn
Language: German (Deutsch)
Sind alle Seelen Harfen,
Muß er ein Harfner sein,
Denn seine Worte greifen
In ihre Saiten ein.

Und will ich mich auch sträuben,
Sie klingen und tönen fort,
Und neue Akkorde erwachen
Bei jedem neuen Wort.

Ich wache, träume und singe,
Weiß nicht warum noch wie,
Der Harfner spielt auf den Saiten
So zaubrische Melodie.

Confirmed with Max Waldau, Blätter im Winde, Leipzig: Theodor Thomas, 1848, page 215. Appears in Akkorde, no. 9.
