Wenn du den leichten Reigen führest, Wenn du den Boden kaum berührest, Hinschwebend in der Jugend Glanz: In jedem Aug ist dann zu lesen, Du seiest nicht ein irdisch Wesen, Du seiest Äther, Seele ganz. Mir aber grauet: wenn nach oben Du würdest plötzlich nun enthoben, Wie wärest, Seele, du bereit? - Wohlan! der sich auf Blumen schaukelt, Der Schmetterling, der ewig gaukelt, Ist Sinnbild der Unsterblichkeit.
