Jérusalem
Language: French (Français)

Ses tribus plaintives,
A tes temples saints ne viennent plus chanter leurs cantiques!
Ses remparts ne sont que décombres!
Ses lévites tremblent, gémissent!
Sur les fronts vierges plus de fleurs!
Son âme le plonge
Dans la douleur sans fin;
De la tristesse le poids l'oppresse!
Les larmes brûlent ses yeux!
Jérusalem!
Reviens, reviens vers le Seigneur Dieu!
Entends un Dieu sauveur!
Tends-lui le bras, rends-lui ton coeur!

Jerusalem
Language: English  after the French (Français)
Her plaintive tribes come no more to sing their canticles at her holy
temples. Her ramparts are in ruins! Her Levites tremble and moan! No
more flowers on maiden foreheads! Her soul is plunged into endless
pain and the weight of sadness oppresses her. Tears burn in her eyes!
Jerusalem! Come back to the Lord God! Hear God the Saviour! Hold out
your arms to Him, give Him your heart!
