by Richard Pohl (1826 - 1896)

Harfenklänge
Language: German (Deutsch)
Eine Harfe ist mein Herz,
Sängerharfe, voll und rein,
Die in Liebes Lust und Schmerz
Tönt für dich, für dich allein.

Leise flüsternd, mächtig rauschend,
Wie dein Athem sie durchweht,
Deinen Winken selig lauschend,
Andachtsvoll, wie zum Gebet.

Mögst der Harfe dich erbarmen,
Die das Schönste, dich, besingt,
Laß sie ruh'n in deinen Armen,
Bis die letzte Saite springt.

Confirmed with Gedichte von Richard Pohl, Weimar: Landes-Industrie-Comptoir, 1859, page 11.
