by Emanuel von Geibel (1815 - 1884)

Über der dunkeln Heide
Language: German (Deutsch)
Über der dunkeln Heide
Wie weit, wie klar die Nacht!
Mein Aug' in stiller Weide
Versinkt in ihrer Pracht.

Aufblickend fließt durchs Blaue
Wie Gold der Sterne Zug;
Ich spüre, wie ich's schaue,
Der Erde leisen Flug.

Das Haupt zurückgebogen,
Emporgespannt den Blick,
Fühl' ich's in mir wie Wogen
Leis flutender Musik,

Als käm' ein Widerhallen
Von jenen Harmonien,
Darin die Sphären wallen,
Durch meine Brust zu ziehn.
