by Adolf Böttger (1815 - 1870)

Ach! all die Rosen träumen noch
Language: German (Deutsch)
Ach! all die Rosen träumen noch
  In ihren grünen Wiegen,
Was mag dem holden Veilchen doch
  So schwer im Sinne liegen!

Was mags nur in der Dämmerung
  So wunderheimlich nicken,
Und wie in Träumen lebensjung
Zum Stern des Abends blicken? --

Laß ab von jenem falschen Stern
  Mit liebekrankem Denken,
Er blinkt so kalt, er blinkt so fern,
  Läßt bald dein Köpfchen senken.
