Grüß Gott du lieber Frühlingswind! Doch darfst bei mir nicht säumen! Flieg' fort, flieg' fort in den Wald geschwind, Da liegt noch Alles in Träumen. Die Blätter in den Knospen weck', Sie sollen säuselnd sprießen! Und hilf den Veilchen im Dornenversteck, Die Äuglein aufzuschließen! Und sag' den Vöglein im ganzen Wald, Der Winter sei zerronnen, Daß jeder Busch und Wipfel schallt! Und heiße rieseln die Bronnen! Und wo ein trauerndes Herze sinnt, Das sollst du in's Freie locken, Und wo eine stille Thräne rinnt, Da weil' und küsse sie trocken! Bei mir, bei mir hat's keine Roth, Den Frühling anzusagen; Ich kann ja die Veilchen und Röslein roth Kaum all' vom Winter tragen. Du kennst ja doch mein lenzig Kind, Und wird's nun Mai auf Erden -- Ja, sag' nur selber du Frühlingswind, Was soll das all noch werden?
