Joiosos per el dolç delit dels nostres ulls caminem a través de la verda campanya, el nostre sacerdoci és l’alegria, el nostre temple, la natura; avui cap esguard s’entristirà, aquí baix no hi hauran penes! Totes les criatures, lliures i joioses, s’han de delectar en l’amor, com nosaltres! Escarniu en l’orgull, germans, germanes! Escarniu la banalitat del serf espantadís! Ardits, coregeu amb alegria el cant dels cants, fermament agafats de les mans! Pugeu als tossals coberts de vinyes, mireu cap baix a l’àmplia vall! Arreu les ales de l’amor, encisador i magnífic arreu! L’amor fa arribar a les roses novelles el rou del matí des de l’aire més alt, ensenya els càlids ventijols a acaronar en la flaire de les flors de maig; condueix les terres fidels a l’entorn d’Orió, obedients al seu senyal, tots els rius rossolen vers l’àmplia mar; a les muntanyes feréstegues hi arranja les plàcides valls, fa gaudir el sol abrusador en l’oceà tranquil; mireu! Amb la terra s’uneix el goig sagrat del cel. Enfosquit pels temporals, tremola encisat el pit de la mare. L’amor andareja pels oceans, fa befa de l’àrida sorra dels deserts, sagna a la bandera victoriosa, exultant per la pàtria; l’amor esbalma les roques, encativa paradisos, somrient torna la innocència, floreixen primaveres divines.
