Motet de Saint Barthélémy : Lætentur cœli
Language: Latin
Available translation(s): SPA
Laetentur coeli et exultet terra
in hac die quo triunphat
beatus apostolus martyr Bartolomoeus,
Quid quid anguit
et moerorem inducit pectoribus,
quid quid crucem
et dolorem inurit corporibus
Chrisi tulit ob amorem
martyr Bartolomoeus.
Hic est cujus cruciatu
nil fuit immanius,
cujus marthyrium nihil crudelius,
cujus victoria nihil illustrius
et cujus triunphis nihil sublimius.
O crudele spectaculum
o flebile marthyrium,
ferociter cruentatur
et dorso et pectore
fit vulnus dum laniatur
unum tota pectore.
Propterea gaudete superi,
gaudete homines,
et in laudes Batolomoei
resonet Ecclesiae plausibus,
et gaudiis et concentus angelis
et concentus angelorum
societur modulis.
