by Johann Wilhelm Jakob Bornemann (1766 - 1851)

Der Meeresflut
Language: German (Deutsch)
Der Meeresflut
mit Purpurglut
entsteigt der Sonne Strahl;
der Nebel sinkt,
und silbern blinkt
im Perlenschmuck das Tal.

Den Fittig hebt
die Lerch' und schwebt
hinauf zum Wolkensaum;
des Schöpfers Dank,
ihr Lobgesang
erfüllt des Himmels Raum.

Mit frommem Sinn,
o Sängerin,
wallst du im Himmelsglanz!
O trag' mein Lied,
von Dank erglüht,
empor zum Sternenkranz!
