Translation Singable translation by Wilhelm Henzen (1850 - 1910)

Kvœlden
Language: Norwegian (Nynorsk)
Det er Nattens store Fred.
Soli sym paa klaare Kvelving
sendande ei Straaleskjelving
yver Skog og Sjöar ned.
Bekkjerne i Bakken surlar
Orren burti Aaser kurlar.

No er Heimen född paa ny,
alle Bakkarne stend ljose
angande av Hegg og Rose
sött ut yver Land og By.
Sœlt aa vera ung og fegen:
Lukka lokkar fram paa Vegen.

Abend
Language: German (Deutsch)  after the Norwegian (Nynorsk)
Frieden bringt die kühle Nacht,
letzte Sonnenstrahlen gleiten
überstille Wasserweiten,
über Wald und Fluren sacht.
Bäche wandeln sanfte Gleise
und das Birkhuhn plaudert leise.

Schlummer macht die Erde neu.
Mondbeschienen stehn die Hügel,
Nachtwind regt die weichen Flügel,
Heck' und Rose duften scheu,
und das Glück mit leisem Kusse
lockt zur Wonne, zum Genusse.
